EXAM OVERVIEW
- FIRST CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION: TOP 20 QUESTIONS
Paper 1 Reading 1 hour 15 minutes
Paper 2 Writing 1 hour 30 minutes
Paper 3 English in Use 1 hour 15 minutes
Paper 4 Listening 45 minutes (approximately)
Paper 5 Speaking 14 minutes (for each pair of students)
- The examination questions are task-based and simulate real-life tasks.
- Questions in Papers 1-3 are text-based. This means that there is always something to read when doing the tasks. ˇ
- Rubrics are important and should be read carefully. They set the context and give important information about the tasks.
- For Papers 1, 3 and 4 you have to write your answers on a separate answer sheet.
