CEO's in the 21st century
I'd like to start today's lesson with some statistics: >In 2004 the average CEO turnover in Europe was 17 proc., North America 13 proc. and Japan 16 proc. >The average retiring age for CEO's in Japan is 65, in Europe 54 and in North America 58. > In 2003, 77 CEOs were fired due to very bad performance, while in 2004 the number rose to 111. > In Europe 60 proc. of companies have split the CEO and chairman roles, in Japan almost 94 proc. > The highest awarded salary was given to Terry Semel, CEO of Yahoo, and it was $230m.
