The Internet changes everybody

Many older Poles are used to less traditional contacts with offices, institutions or companies, and they refuse to change their habits.
Participants of one of the panels in Krynica entitled "Are we ready to live in the digital reality" discussed this very question. Michał Boni, Minister of Administration and Digitalisation, Bridget Cosgrave, President of DIGITALEUROPE, Jerzy Jóźkowiak, President of Poczta Polska, Zygmunt Solorz-Żak, President and owner of Polkomtel, Cezary Stypułkowski, head of BRE Bank and Maciej Witucki, President of Orange Polska wondered how administration and business should evolve to embrace the changing reality and how they should distribute their roles and investments to decrease the Internet divide in Poland.
How we use the Internet
The representative of Poczta Polska presented the results of the research carried out by the Homo Homini Institute regarding the manner of using the Internet. 83% of respondents have access to the Internet, including 54% with broadband. Half of the people who do not use the Internet (8.5% of respondents) admit that they do not feel the need to. For merely 3% the cost is still too high and the same percentage admit that they lack the technical capabilities to use the Internet.
