Green energy vs. energy efficiency
Poland is going to face a major reduction of the CO2 emission. By 2020, the consumption of energy in the European Union is to be lowered by 20 percent.
One fifth of energy is expected to be produced from renewable sources, and greenhouse gas emission is to be reduced by 20 percent, too. Until 2020, at least 80 percent of the EU consumers should have smart meters. In spring 2013, the European Commission is publishing a report on the progress of the fulfilment of the objectives relative to energy efficiency.
